I recently bought this British .55 Boys drill cartridge for a measly 17$ shipped, but it was unfortunately more damaged than the ad showed.
It looks to be heavily used and missing much of the Chrome plating (and almost all the red paint), dent in the side and someone cut the case to get the projectile lose!
It is neat to note the projectile is Zinc (or aluminum?) cored and is completely non-magnetic. Pictured next to my standard .55 Boys AP.
Because of the price and the condition does anyone have any ideas of how I could possibly
restore it? Removing the chrome and re-plating it would be easy enough, maybe use brass solder to fix up the mouth? No idea how I could take the dent out in the side however.
