Schleber's Thread Wound Shot Case

#1

I just wanted to share this rare advertisement of the Schleber thread wound shot case as published in a 1884 catalog by Charles Stark of Toronto, Canada. It was made by H. H. Schleber & Co. and patented in 1878 by Henry H. Schleber of Rochester, New York.

Pictures of the shot cases and box were published in IAA journals No. 307 and 481.

The full patent is here at Google patents (the website misspells his name badly):

This old loading reminds me of the much more modern “delayed shot” .45 auto load which had shot pellets contained in an aluminum housing that was tied together with fishing line and which unravelled after a set distance to unleash the shot.
