I am told the US navy made copies of the Japanese WWII era double horned type 1 anti invasion/anti landing craft-tank mines. The Japanese original and the US post WWII copy are similar in shape (Hemispherical) with two internally threaded projections for the attachment of chemical horn fuzes. The Japanese type is about 21 inches in diameter and the US type is maybe 18 inches in diameter. I am looking for information, pictures and diagrams of the US type. I have an original Inert japanese double horned beach mine and am considering purchasing a deactivated and drilled US type that needs restoration for my collection. Thanks.
