Hello gentlemen, I acquired A 250 count U.M.C. tin full of primers. The label reads U.M.C. 1 M (?) followed by 2 or 3 other letters I cannot make out, especially adapted to Schultz E.C. and other high grade powders, Trap paper Shot Shells, The Union Metallic Cartridge Co., Bridgeport Conn. U.S.A.
The primer is .175 dia and the body is .21, overall with anvil is .29. Can anyone tell what primer this is and if it is correct for the tin.

Trap shells used the #3 primer till 1902
1903 on, they used the #33 primer.
Yours looks like #3.

Hi Terry, Photos didn’t come through but Guy Hildebrand sent me a picture from the U.M.C. 1895 catalogue showing all the primers available at the time. They are #3. I thank you for your time and research.
