Thomas B. NELSON passed away some days ago, aged 76.
Apart of being a good friend,he was well-known as the publisher of excellent books on weapons, the first one being Submachine Guns in 1963, and the last the monumental "The World's Assault Rifles"
written in cooperation with Gary Paul Johnston,-more than 1200 pages covering 500 weapons from 51 countries, as said the advertising-.
He joined the US Army in 1958 under Col. Jarrett in the Ordnance Museum in Aberdeen Proving Grounds, then in 1961 became VP of Interarco, later Interarms, for Latin America and South Asia countries. then founded Collector’s Armory Ltd.
He spend most of his time in Hong Kong and also travelled a lot. We were supposed to meet again in Milipol Paris next fall, but fate decided otherwise…
He will be strongly regreeted. May I send my deep condolences to his family and survivors.
