Offered is an original caliber 37x195 brass cartridge case for the Soviet NS-37 aircraft gun, which was fitted to the Yak-9T fighter plane.
The NS-37 was the hardest hitting aircraft gun during WWII and the Soviets claimed to have destroyed German bombers with a single hit of the 37mm gun. The NS-37 was only in service between 1942 and 1945 and after the war was replaced by the lower-power N-37 aircraft gun (caliber 37x155).
The NS-37 case offered here is a really scarce piece and dated 1944.
Headstamp of the case: 4-44g. 184-C.
