Tell me about this 5.56mm primer crimp

I have only seen this type of primer crimp on Winchester 5.56x45mm cartridges made at their Oxford, MS plant. It appears to be a normal annular crimp, but upon closer examination it is made up of 4 separate segments.

Is this simply a different tooling setup or is there some advantage to this crimp style?

Interesting, my thought / guess is just different tooling.

They (Winchester) at one time in the 1950’s ? 60’s '? also used a 4 “dot” application for primer annulus sealing. Here on a Cal. .50 aluminum case.
