Tool using the 450 Michelin ctges

Everybody knows the ctge : crimped case, and the petals of the crimp are soldered.
Less known is the tool using this ctge.
Here it is

JP

JP,

Do you have any info to explain what the application was for this process?

Dave

Hello

Soldering a crimped case is a SFM patent dating from 1927

The advantages are :

  1. perfect waterproofness
  2. powder load lighter than for a regular crimping case (therefore the flame is shorter)

JP,

Thanks for the info on the cartridge details. I was wondering what was being made with the device you show.

Thanks,
Dave

Ah !!

It is an anti-flat warling device for special buses (with tires but the energy coming from lines as an electric train)

Thanks, JP!

That’s pretty cool.
