This box is opened but full and seems to be in pretty nice shape. What vintage?
Patents ran out after 17 years, so with the S&W patent on the label is is likely pre-1877, It’s not one of the earliest.
Dunn shows it as post 1870 & as UMC-2-S-1 with two variations; printing on the ends & no printing on the ends
Thanks a bunch! I guess I’ll have to get some books on 22 boxes. I accumulated them back in the 60’s and early 70’s and never learned much about them and then sold them all (nearly 1500 boxes) to Jim Tillinghast. Now the bug has bitten again.
