That’s an interesting cartridge.

I’d like to keep this thread going so I’ll post a response which may encourage others to follow.

It must be made from two individual cases joined together by threading? Maybe done to test an increased capacity 5.56 x 51 loading?

Or maybe simply someone tinkering in their workshop or garage?

There is a 5.56x54mm with a LM headstamp in the appendix of Huon’s book. Alas, it is just a photo with no info.

Bonjour Michel!
the base and rim diameters are like for a 223 or for a 7.5 Mas ??

Some information and images complementary :

7.62x51 French (+ 72 LM)
5.56x58 (+ LM 62)
5.56x54 Xpl French (1-73 VA LM 7.5)
7.5x54 French (4-67 LM 7.5 TE)

the base and rim diameters are like the 7.62x51
I know a second identical cartridge.
