I am running it as unknown Polish factory so far.

They are documented on:
Cases: 23x115 dated 1975-1990, 23x152B

Projectile bodies: 25x218 dated 1963

Loading of: 25x218 dated 1963, 30x210B dated 1968-1971

It turned out that 439Z this designation Zakłady Metalowe “Zakrzów” (later Polar S.A.), Wrocław. Factory produced aircraft ammunition and other components from 1952 until the late 80-ies years. After its closure all the equipment was transported to Zakłady Metalowe MESKO, Skarżysko-Kamienna.

AveDanzig,

Good information. Do you know of any internet sites that discuss ammunition production at Zakłady Metalowe “Zakrzów” (later Polar S.A.), Wrocław?
I could find only one small reference here: pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polar_S.A.

Here is a portion of the Google translation of the wikipedia article:

“Initially , in the 50s the plant produced small parts , metal - chains , trolleys , etc. , then the gas ovens . Also introduced to the plant called Special Production, that is the secret section where produced ammunition. In 1957 started the production plants mopeds ( Richie and Zak ) and absorption chillers (including the first Polish design called " The Seagull” ) , in 1962 - compressor ."

Thanks

Brian

Hi. Not too much, for example:

otowroclaw.com/news.php?id=70556
the most important information:

“Zakłady Metalowe „Zakrzów” powstały w 1952 roku. Wydział „S” (specjalny) położony był na zalesionym terenie na przeciwko Hydralu. Produkowano tam cztery rodzaje pocisków przeciwlotniczych kal. 24 mm. […] Amunicję produkowano na licencji radzieckiej. I choć technika szła naprzód każda innowacja musiała być zaakceptowana przez stronę radziecką […] W ciągu miesiąca w fabryce robiono ok. 10 tys. pocisków. […] W 1980 roku zaczęto likwidować polarowską fabrykę amunicji. Sprzęt i urządzenia przewieziono do zakładów amunicyjnych Mesko w Skarżysku – Kamiennej.”

wroclaw.express-miejski.pl/wiado … im-polarze
This article is similar but contains an mistake concerning the termination of production (1960)

In both articles is also mistakes in caliber of ammunition (should be 23mm, not 24mm)

From the words of friend who lives in Wroclaw, the factory produced ammunition until 1989, but this is not confirmed information.
In my collection I have the youngest signature from 1990 (23x115), but maybe it’s production in MESKO after transfer machines from Polar ??

As mentioned above there are also 25mm projectile bodies from #439Z and calibers up to at least 30mm were loaded by them.

There exist 1990 cases from #439Z loaded with projectile bodies from #21 (Mesko) dated 1990. Hard to say what that means.
