Unusual LC case head

I recently found this fired case at my local range - I’ve not seen a Lake City 5.56mm/.223 case head like this before. Who uses primer crimps like these?

Hi Dave, this is a XM193 loading made by Federal and come in boxes with new product code XM193F because the packaging was done at the Anoka plant.

New primer crimp that has shown up in the past year or so. I’m told it is in response to the higher pressures of the M-855A1 (?) load in the M-4 rifle. They must use the primed and crimped cases for a variety of loads and just make them all to the new specifications… reloaders say it does not effect de-priming the case or re-priming it…
