US early WWII "pineapple" hand grenade color question

I’ve been asked to restore to the original color an inert US WWII early type fragmentation hand grenade for a WWII vet.
I have seen color film footage of very early grenades issued in the Pacific that were not OD green with a yellow band at the top of the body but, the whole body was painted yellow.
Was this an original color or a unique color to denote a special purpose grenade?
I’m unable to find a color photo of this type grenade.

I read on another web site that the MK II Frag grenades were painted yellow–denoting HE–up until some time in 1943, when the color code was switched to OD with a yellow band for HE.

Thank you for the link. The info is just what I needed.
