Does any one have list of these, similar to the list in the back of COTW.

There are a couple of versions available but no recent ones as far as I know. It’s something that several of us have been looking for. Until someone posts an updated version on the web it would take a lot of research to dig a copy out the public records.

I can probably e-mail you the ones that I have. One is very lengthy. I’m not sure that I can attach them to a PM so why don’t you PM me with your e-mail address and we’ll see what we can do. No promises since I’m not very computer savvy.

Ray–falcon5nz does not need to PM you for you to get his Email. Just click on the “EMAIL” button at the bottom of his post.

#4

Ron,
I don’t see any EMAIL button…

#5

MTLB–It is at the very bottom of each persons post next to where it shows the date of posting. It has buttons for “PROFILE, PM & EMAIL”.

Ron

Your eyes are better than mine because I don’t see an e-mail button. Only a Profile and PM. As hall monitor you must a different list to choose from.

Ray & MTLB–Since two people have reported this problem I will forward it to ChrisB. He knows the inner workings of the Forum Software better than I do. Hopefully he can solve the problem.

I think you are right. The e-mail link only shows on the forum if the member chooses to have it shown. However, if anyone can go to members profile and get an e-mail link there, it seems that there’s not much security in having it not show on the Forum. But, I’m not sure that’s an option either. I know that I had to block all PMs and e-mails on some other forums that I visited because I found they were infecting my PC with spam, spyware, and maybe even viruses.

BTW, where did the “5.56x45mm (.223 / .224 special)” designation come from? I’ve never seen a 224 Special. Is that just your own?

And I believe some of your 7.62MM and Cal 30 designations are mixed up.

Ray - the term for the 5.56 with the quotes of (223 / 224 special) is just to cover the ambiguity of the caliber in general, where 223 and 5.56 are essentially synonymous (yes I know the difference), and I think the term of “224 special” is just what the original writer of that list deemed what the “223 Remington” should actually be called, as it might be the more technically correct description. The list of .308’s is all correct for the obvious ones, except I think some of the T-series which relate to the eventual M-series are guesses by whomever wrote that.

#11

It appears that he has mixed the various experimental and prototype 22 cartridges into one. What we now know as the 5.56x45 was, at one time, the 222, 222 Special, and 223. There was also the 224 Winchester and the 224 Springfield - different than the 5.56x45 and from one another. But, it’s his list and he can call the cartridge whatever he wants, I suppose.

On the other hand - there’s no polite way to say this - calling the T101 or the T93 a Cal .30 cartridge is just plain incorrect. There are others.
