W.R.A.Co. 45 - 90 W.H.V. '', BALLOON BUSTING TEST GUN LOAD

#1

This cartridge is listed in Wards current auction, Does anyone have or know anything about this cartridge?
Thank you Carolyn

The British had some tests with this case type, and as Incendiary’s but if one looks in Labbett pg 201 (British Small Arms Ammunition 1864-1938) the bullet is not remotely the same, with the correct being a flat nose.

As pointed out in other threads here, on-line auctions sometimes get it wrong.

Wondered the same thing. Have a couple of those bought years ago from Martin Golland, our well-known Brit collector-buddy. My note from back then says, "MARTIN GOLLAND FOUND SEALED BX OF THESE RETURNED FROM INDIA."
Wards sez consignor of this round has orig box but Wards has seen no pix of same.

What would India be doing with balloon buster INC cartridges?

Not to say Martin has anything to do with the description.
