Winchester .22 Blanks

Does anyone have information/documentation on this stuff?

Thanks,
Kevin Williams

They are legit. Used in early WW2 in artillery trainers.

Kevin, these blank cartridges were used in the M2 and M2A1 field artillery trainers to propel a 1" steel ball weighing approx. 1,024 gr. These devices could be adjusted to simulate 1/100 of the range of the gun being simulated. Below you can see a picture of the accesories for the M2 device.

After the war, this type of blank was also used as a spotting charge inside the subcaliber projectiles fired with the 3-F-8 mortar trainer and its derivates.

Fede

Thank you both.
