Woolwich Ammunition Pattern Collection now at Leeds

My contact at the ‘Firepower Museum’ at Leeds (England) informs me that the Woolwich Pattern collection has now been moved to Leeds. This is the collection of Sealed Pattern pieces. These were the rounds that were the standard to which all production ammunition must match. This is similar to the firearms pattern collection in this regards. The collection dates back to about the 1880’s on and includes many 303’s etc. This collection is not open to the public at this time. However, it’s nice to know that it even exists. In future, ammunition scholars may be able to get access.

Very, very good news.

Great it’s not in the Thames or some landfill. Somebody did something right. My hat is off to him or her.
